A SPECTACLE OF NATURE
The dial of every watch sets a special accent. Because of the use of genuine barrique barrels, which are processed into millimetre-thin dials, no watch is the same as any other. Each dial represents a stage on which a spectacle of impressive grains of oak wood and elegant influences of aged wine takes place. The influence of red wine creates beautiful designs of natural beauty:
The pure expression of nature is therefore at the heart of Grand Pinot’s design.
Watches made from wine barrels... How does this work?
A heart for good wines, special moments and elegant watches…
Grand Pinot founder Michael Halbritter has always had a penchant for elegant watches with a classic design that stand out from the masses with their small but fine features. One summer evening he sat with a good friend on a bench in the vineyard, where they enjoyed an excellent Pinot Noir together. Perhaps it was also his effect that made Halbritter ask his friend at a later hour: “How nice it would be if we could carry this pleasurable, shared moment in beautiful nature with us permanently?”
Two years of development
It was at this moment that the idea of “Grand Pinot” was born: Michael Halbritter made the decision to create a watch that would express this very special attitude to life. Combining simplicity with beauty and the timelessness of an exquisite wine. This was followed by about two years of design work and a lengthy search for the right partner. Halbritter finally found it in a family-run watch manufactory that was also enthusiastic about his vision.
The queen of grape varieties
This combination resulted in an extraordinary watch series that Halbritter now offers under the Grand Pinot brand: “The name comes from the Pinot Noir grape variety, which many vintners call the queen of grape varieties,” says the watch and wine lover Halbritter. “It places high demands on the vineyard sites and is usually selected thoroughly by hand and carefully vinified. The best winegrowers produce long-lasting, complex wines of enormous elegance from it. This character is also reflected in his watches, which are available in the Classic, Characer and Heritage editions.
